European Composer & Songwriter Alliance to receive the 2026 WSA Industry Award
The 2026 WSA Industry Award by Film Fest Gent and the World Soundtrack Academy will be presented to the European Composer & Songwriter Alliance (ECSA), in recognition of the organisation’s mission to create a fair and transparent (screen) music industry. Through research, advocacy, awareness campaigns and curated events, ECSA has safeguarded composers’ and songwriters’ rights in an era full of technological developments and new challenges.

THIRD CHARACTER
The Third Character market is a unique initiative designed to connect composers with directors and producers during the WSA Film Music Days at Film Fest Gent on 8 October. The event is free. Registrations for director-producer duos and composers are now open.
STUDENT MATCHMAKING
A match made in heaven? Film Fest Gent is the personal matchmakers of (film) music students and film or game development students to kick-start exciting new projects. The Student Matchmaking event is set for 9 October. Deadline for registration is 25 September.
