MovieScore Media takes a trip to the past by releasing the original score for JFK: A President Betrayed, one of the several documentaries produced about the legendary president upon the 50th anniversary of his assassination. Written and directed by Cory Taylor, the film is one of the handful of projects that’s not focused on the conspiracy-filled murder of the world leader, rather it aims to present his foreign policy in new light based on new evidence. Narrated by Academy Award-winner Morgan Freeman,JFK: A President Betrayed reveals how JFK embarked on secret back channel peace efforts with Khrushchev and Castro and was determined to get out of Vietnam despite intense opposition inside his own government…

The colorful musical accompaniment is provided by composer James T. Sale, a frequent collaborator of Mark Mothersbaugh for whom he orchestrated and conducted scores like both Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs films or The Lego Movie.

The score for JFK: A President Betrayed offers an imaginative tapestry for Cold War politics that doesn’t shy away from recasting the key players as expressed in tracks like the reflective cue for “JFK” or the ominously percussive music for “Introducing Castro”.
