Moviescore Media will release tomorrow the original score from the 2025 action feature film HOSTILE TAKEOVER, directed by Michael Hamilton-Wright, starring Michael Jai White, Dawn Olivieri and Aleks Paunovic, produced by Dovetale Media, Fun Republic Pictures, Julijette, Karma Film and Volume Global and released by Quiver Distribution (USA) and Tiberius Film (Germany).
Pete, a professional hitman, faces a group of assassins after the boss of a crime syndicate suspects disloyalty due to his attendance at Workaholics Anonymous meetings.
“While Hostile Takeover contains its fair share of exciting fight scenes and light-hearted comedic moments to play off of, the heart of the film centres on Pete’s struggle to make a choice between his passion for work and Mora, the love of his life. It was from this dichotomy that themes such as “Conflicted”, “You and Me Against the World” and “Never Understand” sprang forth and became peppered throughout the score to reflect his internal conflict. At the same time, it was important to envelop the viewer in Pete’s New York City world through the use of big band brass and suave saxophone licks such as those featured in “A New York State of Mind”. Pete had a sophistication about him and these musical elements played a vital role in revealing this side of his character. Overall, all of these musical elements and themes culminated in the musical journey of Pete, a journey that I hope you enjoy listening to as much as I enjoyed composing.” – Kevon Cronin.

Kevon Cronin, who resides in the Canadian province of Manitoba, is a 20 year film, TV & video game veteran. This WCMA (Western Canadian Music Award) nominee is as comfortable scoring a light-hearted holiday film for Hallmark as he is scoring a high-energy action thriller like Lionsgate’s King of Killers starring Frank Grillo and Stephen Dorff.
