FILM MUSIC PRAGUE 2018 IS PROUD TO ANNOUNCE HEADLINER BENJAMIN WALLFISCH FOR THE OPENING NIGHT CONCERT

Happening April 19th, 2018 at the Forum Karlin Prague.

Film Music Prague 2018 festival, to be held from Thursday 19th to Sunday 22nd of April 2018, has just announced Golden Globe and Emmy nominated composer  Benjamin Wallfisch as the main guest and conductor of a new concert named ‘GooseBumps!

 Wallfisch, performing music from his scores for IT, Blade Runner 2049, Annabelle: Creation, Hidden Figures and more with The City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra. Wallfisch has had a banner year with breaking out into the stratosphere with the huge hits he has scored.  ‘IT’ being the highest grossing horror film of all time.  ‘Blade Runner 2049’ being one of the most critically acclaimed films of 2017.

ABOUT BENJAMIN WALLFISCH 

Golden Globe and Emmy nominated composer Benjamin Wallfisch’s career spans over a decade and 60 feature films. He has composed music for such legendary filmmakers as Steven Spielberg, Gore Verbinksi, Denis Villeneuve and Lars von Trier, and has worked on scores recognized with multiple awards and nominations at the Academy Awards, Golden Globes, BAFTAs, Ivor Novello Awards, and World Soundtrack Awards.

Recent movies include Denis Villeneuve’s BLADE RUNNER 2049 (co-scored with Hans Zimmer), the highest grossing horror film of all time, IT, directed by Andy Muschietti, Gore Verbinski’s A CURE FOR WELLNESS and Ted Melfi’s HIDDEN FIGURES (co-scored with Hans Zimmer and Pharrell Williams).

Notable past projects include orchestrating and conducting the Academy Award winning score for ATONEMENT, writing additional music for Steve McQueen’s Best Picture Academy Award winning film 12 YEARS A SLAVE, scoring the short film AUSCHWITZ, produced by Steven Spielberg and directed by James Moll, as well as collaborating with iconic multi-award winning artist Adele for her tribute to George Michael at the 59th Grammy Awards.

ABOUT FILM MUSIC PRAGUE 

FILM MUSIC PRAGUE is a festival that focuses on scores straight from renowned films and attracts guests from all over the world. In past festivals they have featured composers such as Joe Hisaishi (Spirited Away), Elliot Goldenthal (Frida), Craig Armstrong (Love Actually), Harry Gregson-Williams (Shrek), Fernando Velázquez (The Orphanage), Rachel Portman (Chocolat), Jan Kaczmarek (Finding Neverland), Patrick Doyle (Harry Potter 4), Nicholas Hooper (Harry Potter 5&6) and Ilan Eshkeri (Stardust).

The festival also supports the development of cancer cures by donating part of their proceeds to leading organizations in the Czech Republic, and they also invite children from orphanages to visit the festival free of charge to enjoy the exciting and powerful world of film music.
