A Special Panel of Judges to Award Excellence in Production Music
The upcoming Production Music Conference (“PMC”) hosted by the Production Music Association (“PMA”) will present the 2nd Annual Mark Awards, a one-of-a-kind awards ceremony that honors outstanding production music in 24 categories. Production music is the sonic lifeblood of so many audiovisual productions, from television programs, to promotional campaigns, to major theatrical releases. Named in honor of the late Andy Mark, who was a library owner and founding member of the PMA, The Mark Awards recognize the very best in production music. The awards ceremony will take place October 17th at the Le Méridien Delfina in Santa Monica. The deadline for submissions has extended to August 12th. Entries can be submitted via http://www.awardcore.com/pma/.
A special panel of judges has been assembled to determine the recipients of the Mark Awards. Some of the notable names include Shawn LeMone, Senior Vice President & General Manager of the Film & Television/Visual Media Department at ASCAP; Jonathan Finegold, owner and founder of Fine Gold Music; and Lauren King, Head of Music at Y&R New York. A full list of judges and their biographies can be found at http://markawards.pmamusic.com/judges/.
PMC takes place at the Le Méridien Delfina in Santa Monica on October 17th and 18th. The newly expanded 2-day conference will host business, creative and technology panels featuring the best and brightest in the Production Music world and will consist of industry panels, educational seminars with music professionals, and networking events. New features include 1 on 1 meetings with a professional, hosted roundtable discussions with professionals, and nearby networking and meeting spaces. The goal of the conference is to bring the Production Music community together and provide actionable solutions for our music, business and our clients. The conference will educate on current trends and tools, supply valuable information, share the creation of industry-wide technology standards and provide a state of the industry to the composing, songwriting and publishing communities. The PMC strives to provide a positive and inspired forum to attendees and, after only two years, is now a fixture in the calendar for people involved in all aspects of production music.
