Silva Screen Records presents NOCTURNAL ANIMALS . The album features the film’s original music composed by Golden Globe nominee Abel Korzeniowski (A Single Man, Penny Dreadful, W.E., Escape from Tomorrow).
Winner of Grand Jury prize at Venice Film Festival, Nocturnal Animals is a gripping tale of revenge, adapted by Ford, from Austin Wright’s 1993 novel Tony and Susan.
The soundtrack is penned by BAFTA Award-Winner, Golden Globe and Emmy Award-nominated composer Abel Korzeniowski. This is a second successful collaboration between Ford and Korzeniowski, their first one, A Single Man, earning Korzeniowski his first Golden Globe nomination for Best Score. A Single Man was a breakout score for the composer, for which he received the prestigious Discovery Award at the 2010 Ghent Film Festival’s World Soundtrack Awards. Abel Korzeniowski’s gripping, brooding and Herrmanesque, string laden score to Tom Ford’s much anticipated second feature film.
Abel Korzeniowski comments –“Nocturnal Animals is a fairy tale about violence, in which cruelty of an emotional crime is represented as a story of a murder. A suffocating pain caused by a rejection is reflected as an image of raw, savage brutality. My music embraces those two extremes, but it switches their traditional genre characterization. The crime plot is scored as an intimate, personal story, while the psychological drama is treated as a thriller. The cold and detached intertwines with poignant and excruciating, the simple and intimate becomes grand and bold.”
Korzeniowski’s passionate and evocative compositions have overwhelmingly received critical acclaim. The composer earned another Golden Globe nomination for Madonna’s W.E., as well as a BAFTA Award and three Emmy Award nominations for his work on Showtime and Sky’s TV Show Penny Dreadful. In addition, he has created musical identities for some of the world’s most prestigious brands, including BMW-i Electric Vehicles and Tiffany & Co. His music has also been featured on the runways of major fashion designers around the world, including Gucci, Ralph Lauren, Boss, Carolina Herrera, Alberta Ferretti, and Tom Ford.
