An Arranger’s Tale: From Screen to Concert Hall masterclass panel held on May 16, 2019, during the Krakow Film Music Festival (FMF) inside the Pałac Krzysztofory and was a critical component of the 7th FMF Audiovisual Forum, an industry-focused education and networking track organized alongside the main concert schedule of the Festival.

Hosted by film music journalist and researcher Eleni Mitsiaki, the session featured prominent arrangers and orchestrators Thomas Bryła (composer, orchestrator, and conductor well-known in the European festival circuit for adapting cinematic suites for live symphonic concerts), Nikiforos Chrysoloras (contemporary composer and orchestrator), and Jan Sanejko (Polish composer and arranger intimately familiar with the European scoring market and local orchestral production workflows).

The discussion offered a rare look behind the scenes at how cinematic soundtracks are reborn on the concert stage. Industry insiders broke down the massive undertaking of turning digital studio tracks into live orchestral sheet music, weaving isolated film cues into epic symphonic suites, and reviving lost or disorganized legacy scores for massive “Live to Projection” stadium shows.
